The Redemption, Subversion, & Restoration of Teaching and Learning examines the history of American education, focusing on restoring a Biblical philosophy, curriculum and methods. Taught by Dr. Max Lyons.

Afternoon
Cultivating Character, Christian Self-Government, and Conscience explains how parents and teachers form Christian character in youth. Taught by Dr. Max Lyons.

Tuesday, August 12

Morning
Reasoning from Principles: Biblical Thinking for Life and Learning shows how principled thinking results in cultivating a Biblical worldview. Taught by Dr. Carole Adams.

Afternoon
Economics for All Teachers and Every Student explains how to make sense of our modern economy by understanding the Biblical principles of free market economics. Taught by Dr. Max Lyons.

Wednesday, August 13

Morning
Teaching History Providentially explains how to use history in every subject to impart the knowledge of God as one who guides, guards, and governs the universe. Taught by Dr. Max Lyons.

Afternoon
Teaching Geography: The Setting for His-Story is an inspiring study of “God’s handwriting on earth” that will help you to teach geography from a Biblical worldview. Taught by Margie Lyons.

Thursday, August 14

Morning
Reading and Reasoning with Understanding identifies the seven metacognitive strategies for comprehension and utilizes writing for recording reflections and reasoning. Taught by Martha Shirley.

Afternoon
Bringing the Classroom to Life through Drama and Music shows how to use simple and easy-to-use hymns, songs, skits, plays and monologues to make learning enjoyable and memorable. Taught by Dr. Max Lyons.

First Landing Christian History Tour (Wednesday, 3:30–6:30) Learn the exciting, little-known story of the Christian founding and dedication of Virginia and America in 1607 by the Jamestown settlers at the original site in Virginia Beach. The tour begins at the Foundation and concludes at the stone cross at Fort Story in Virginia Beach. Transportation is on your own.

Schedule: Morning sessions 9:00 am to 11:00 am (lunch on your own) Afternoon sessions 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Fees: Each Workshop session is $25. The Christian History Tour is $25, spouses and high school students included. Attend all eight Workshops and Tour for $150 (Save 30%). ACSI CEU credit is an additional $10 for the entire series.

Online: For interested participants with an internet connection, the training series is now being offered online via live streaming. When registering, please indicate in the Order Comments box (right before checkout) that you are taking the courses online. Unfortunately the Christian History Tour is not available online.
