Gary Porter
The Forgotten Man

Monday, May 15, 7:00-8:30 p.m. EST

Join us for a special presentation by Gary Porter, U.S. Constitution expert, lecturer, and trainer.  He will reveal the origins of the subject depicted in the thought provoking work of art, The Forgotten Man, by artist Jon McNaughton.

Against the background of a darkening sky, all the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House.  Among them sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, "What have you done?" Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. One of them stands with his foot on the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Porter will give an analysis of this scene with an emphasis on what each of us can do to ensure that all Americans are given a reason to hope in our restoration and bright future.

Gary Porter is Executive Director of the Constitution Leadership Initiative, a program to promote a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution among the American people, and a volunteer docent at The Foundation for American Christian Education.

Jon McNaughton is an established artist from Utah whose new paintings have attracted the international attention of millions over the last few years. Highly detailed religious and patriotic subjects are the focus of his paintings. The artist’s experiences and faith are the inspiration for his work.

New York Times bestselling author James Michael Pratt has said of McNaughton's work: "When I first saw Jon McNaughton's patriotic, faith, and Americana art I thought of Norman Rockwell and knew he was America's Artist for our current generation and crisis. Just as Rockwell painted inspiration into his scenes giving meaning and hope to Americans during the Great Depression, World War Two years and after, Jon McNaughton offers the same hope and inspiration for Americans facing moral, cultural, and political crisis today."

You can learn more about McNaughton's art at his website.
