Dr. Max Lyons
Government Takes All, What’s Left for Me?
The Failure of Socialism and How to Restore Christian Self Government

Monday, October 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m. EDT
In our Chesapeake, Virginia classroom and live online

Government overreach is one of the greatest threats to Americans today. How so? Civil government power grab is relentless, exercising control over health, education, welfare and many other areas of our lives that were once universally regarded as the responsibility of individuals, families and churches. Whatever happened to limits on civil government? This lecture addresses the Biblical defense for jurisdiction—the God-ordained spheres of authority (individual, family, church, voluntary associations) and limits on each sphere. Our precious liberty hangs in the balance so we neglect this subject at our own peril!

At the root of jurisdiction is an extremely important and profound worldview question, Whose authority and responsibility is each area of life? The critical question can be framed this way: It is not who can take care of, or provide for, something, but rather who is supposed to do it?

Max Lyons served as teacher and administrator in three Christian schools since 1979. He holds a Masters in Christian School Administration from Regent University and a Ph.D. in Christian Education from Whitefield Theological Seminary. He currently serves as Director of Teaching Services at the Foundation for American Christian Education. He is the author or co-author of five books. Max and Margie have 13 children and grandchildren in their downline.
