The Foundation for American Christian Education is pleased to announce A lecture in a series of Lessons in Liberty Jim Wallis will present: We Want a King, Our Fatal Choice On Monday, December 1st 6:30-8:30 p.m. Can we make a case in the 21st Century for the Hebrew Republic as a model for modern political structures? I think we can. We have to answer the strawmen of “theocracy”, separation of church and state, American exceptionalism, capitalism and many other easy targets that prevent individuals, communities and nations from benefiting from the blessings of covenant with a loving God. Over 30 years ago, I wrote a paper as senior at Covenant Seminary on the book of Deuteronomy. The title? The Love Treaty! I’ll explore those ideas from a variety of sources, disciplines, and time periods. James R. Wallis, Jr., CPLP is Adjunct Professor of Humanities and Religion at Averett University and DeVry University. Jim was a TV producer of over 1,650 broadcast programs in English and Spanish, and was managing editor of The Christian American Newspaper. Jim is now a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) developing training in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He is currently working on a book series on political philosophy with a view to defend and revive a covenant/federalist perspective in our polities.
