The homeschool community is an integral part of the Principle Approach® community. Families across the country use The Noah Plan® curriculum in their homeschool settings. The Foundation values homeschoolers who are devoted to blessing the generations by teaching children a Biblically-based educational philosophy. We have chosen to note these home educators who have invested their time to mentor and encourage others outside their own families in the Principle Approach journey.
Michelle Heidemann of Colorado
Michelle Heidemann had her start as a public school educator. When the Heidemann family was called into homeschooling, they were introduced to the Principle Approach method of teaching as a result of interviewing for a job at a local Principle Approach school in Colorado. Michelle has taught in many different educational disciplines for 20 years but now enjoys teaching her boys at home. She says, “What I thought was just an excellent education for my children became a remarkable pathway for an ever deepening relationship with God for the whole family!” Michelle has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in curriculum and instruction as well as training in Principle Approach methodologies and applications. Michelle also trains, encourages, and networks with others in a small homeschool group. She welcomes your e-mails at mheidemann@myedl.com. Anna-Marie Hawthorne of Oklahoma
Anna-Marie is a young mom just getting started teaching her three children through the Principle Approach. Anna-Marie's mother used the Principle Approach in teaching her at home during her high school years. Anna-Marie decided then that she would homeschool her own children in the Principle Approach. She posts her insights and helpful resources at http://principledmom.blogspot.com and co-moderates the Bibleprinciples site.
Joni Harsh of Texas
Joni Harsh has homeschooled her children for ten years, using the Principle Approach for the last six years. Joni's five children range from three to sixteen years old. Joni has taught poetry and Shakespeare with The Noah Plan to local homeschoolers. What began with a love for history and literature has blossomed into a love for each subject as it is uniquely presented through the Principle Approach. Joni wrote The Noah Plan Homeschool Companion, which is available free with any purchase from the Foundation.
